You'll also have the opportunity to converse with near-peer mentors about their personal experience in post-secondary pathways.
During this group session, in just 90 seconds, you will have a better understanding of your career personality by interacting with a set of images. The Hired team will walk you through what your results mean and what careers could resonate with your results. During this time, RealTime Talent will expose you to labor market insights driving Minnesota’s most in-demand workforce industries. Then, Hired will break down the do's/don'ts of interviewing and give you the opportunity to practice your workforce readiness skills via mock interviews.
During this time, you will learn about the breadth of careers in Minnesota's construction building trades, understand the role of unions, and discuss how to plan and prepare for apprenticeships.
In the first portion of this session, you will hear Knutson employees talk about their work, career paths, and the story of how they got to where they are today. Throughout, you'll have opportunities to ask questions and interact with a employees from different areas of the business to get a feel for the variety of roles within our organization.
Career paths to be discussed include: Laborer / Foreman, Superintendent, Project Manager, Accountant, Marketing Coordinator, IT, Virtual Design in Construction (VDC)
During the second portion of the session, you will have the interact more deeply with each department. The VDC team will have technology on site for demo and use (laser scanner, drones, cameras, 3D printed models, etc.).
In this session, you will work through the following interactive learning modules with the Minnetronix Medical team:
Engineering in the Hospital - you'll will learn how medical device engineering impacts patients, doctors, and nurses in the hospitals. From device development through clinical support and use in patients, you'll get an in depth look at new technologies and how engineers support them.
Soldering Station - you'll learn about soldering, a process used to join different types of metals together by melting solder. Hands-on training and soldering practice will be conducted and you'll discuss how we use soldering in the assembly of electronic devices.
Career Paths in Engineering & Manufacturing - Minnetronix employees will talk about their work, career paths, and the story of how they got to where they are today. You will have opportunities to ask questions and interact with staff from different areas of the business to get a feel for all of the roles that make our devices possible.
